  Hi all! This review for Christ the Lord Lutheran in Clearwater comes from an insider. I joined this neighborhood church recently as a new pastor in the area; I essentially moved into Clearwater knowing nobody, and this little church family has become my new local family. I (and my wife and daughters) have been embraced and cared for by the church family and had a rewarding and fun year getting to know the congregation and community. I feel really positive about this congregation, hence my review.
  
  The church is on a scenic property, located across the street from the neighborhood Velencia Park in Clearwater. It has an easy-to-find location just off Hercules Avenue. I've met people here who come from Clearwater, Dunedin, Oldsmar and Largo for services. The buildings are about 40 years old, and the sanctuary feels cozy but not cutting edge on the inside, with beach town colors of palm green and sandy paint, with rough hewn lumber furniture in the front.
  
  The worship atmosphere at a typical church service leans toward formal, as the group sings hymns and uses service outlines from Christianity's early years. The singing is nice for a small group, which is between 60 -100 people on a weekend. The music includes piano and organ sounds, with some beautiful flute and guitar and trumpet too. Most people show up in business casual apparel, but there's plenty of shorts and flip flops which seem natural and comfortable for this beach town church.
  
  I've been building positive relationships with the church leaders, and we are working on our mission of sharing and celebrating the good news of forgiveness and eternal life that comes through Jesus, and also caring for our neighbors in the local community.
  
  I was surprised at first to see that there's over 600 local churches in Pinellas County, and its inspiring to see Christians gathering all around town... but I feel especially blessed to have found my home at Christ the Lord, Clearwater : )
